Integrations: Claude, ChatGPT and Google

Three pages under System › Integrations connect Site Connect to outside services:

  • Claude and ChatGPT — store your own AI key (Anthropic or OpenAI), if you want AI to run on your own account.
  • Google — connect Google Drive so Site Connect can create employment contracts from your Google Docs templates.

Where to find it

Menu: System › Claude · Address: hub.siteconnect.ai/settings/integrations/claudeMenu: System › ChatGPT · Address: hub.siteconnect.ai/settings/integrations/chatgptMenu: System › Google · Address: hub.siteconnect.ai/settings/googleWho can use it: Admins by default. Other roles need the Claude, ChatGPT or Google permission to open each page — see Roles and permissions. Only workspace owners and admins can save changes on the Google page.

Do you need your own AI key?

Usually not.

  • On the Premium plan, the AI in Photos & notes (voice-note transcription, captions, summaries and translation) runs on Site Connect's own AI service. You don't need an AI account.
  • If you save your own key, Site Connect uses your key first for those features, and your AI provider bills you directly. While a key is saved, Site Connect always uses it — so keep that account funded, or disconnect the key.
  • Without Premium, your own key doesn't switch these features on. They're part of the Premium plan only — see AI features need the Premium plan.
  • Photos & notes AI runs on OpenAI, so the ChatGPT key is the one it uses.

The red warning at the top

When no AI key is saved, or a saved key keeps failing, a red warning with an Edit key button appears at the top of the Claude and ChatGPT pages. It's about your own keys only. On the Premium plan, Photos & notes AI works without them, so you can ignore the "no key" warning.

Add your ChatGPT (OpenAI) key

  1. Sign in at platform.openai.com/api-keys, click Create new secret key and copy it. It looks like sk-proj-... or sk-.... Make sure the account still has credit.
  2. In Site Connect, go to System › ChatGPT.
  3. Paste the key into API Key.
  4. Click Save API Key. You'll see OpenAI API key saved, a Connected badge appears, and the key is hidden behind dots.
  5. Click Test connection. A success message names the model that answered. If it fails, the message says why (for example an invalid key or no credit).

Add your Claude (Anthropic) key

  1. Sign in at console.anthropic.com, go to Settings → API Keys → Create Key and copy the key. It looks like sk-ant-api03-....
  2. In Site Connect, go to System › Claude and paste the key into API Key.
  3. If your Anthropic account belongs to an organization with several members, enter its ID in Organization ID (optional). Otherwise leave it empty.
  4. Click Save API Key. You'll see Claude API key saved and a Connected badge.
  5. Click Test connection to check it works.

Replace or remove an AI key

  • Replace: click Change next to the hidden key, paste the new key and click Save API Key. Click Cancel to keep the current key.
  • Remove: click Disconnect and confirm with Disconnect. The key is deleted from Site Connect, and Site Connect stops using your account until you add a key again.

Keys are stored encrypted, and the page never shows a saved key again — keep your own copy somewhere safe.

Connect Google Drive for contract documents

Site Connect can turn a Google Docs template into a filled-in employment contract. You attach templates to contract types — see Print contracts from a template. First, connect Google here.

The Google page has two tabs: Drive and documents and Workspace (administration). Click Save settings at the top right to save the folder fields; the other sections have their own buttons.

  1. Go to System › Google. The Drive and documents tab opens.
  2. In Connect Google Drive (OAuth), click Connect Google.
  3. Google opens. Sign in with the account that owns your contract templates and allow access.
  4. You come back to Site Connect and see Google Drive connected. The box shows ✓ Connected: and the Google account's email.
  5. Under Document generation mode (Quotations / Sales orders), click OAuth Drive (drive.file). Despite the label, this setting also applies to contracts. You'll see Switched to OAuth Drive.

With this mode, Site Connect can only open files you pick yourself. So on each contract type, choose the template with Choose from Drive (pasting a link isn't enough).

If OAuth Drive can't be selected

The OAuth Drive (drive.file) button stays greyed out until Google Drive is connected and Google Picker is enabled for Site Connect. If the page says OAuth mode requires an admin to enable Google Picker, contact support, or use a service account instead (next section).

To disconnect, click Disconnect in the same box.

Use a Google service account instead

Use this if your IT team manages Google through a service account. Service Account (key JSON) is the default mode.

  1. In Google Cloud Console, go to IAM & Admin → Service Accounts → Keys and download a key file (.json).
  2. In Site Connect, open the Workspace (administration) tab.
  3. In Service Account (Workspace admin features), click Upload JSON and choose the file. You'll see Key uploaded and ✓ Service Account key configured.
  4. Service Account Email fills in by itself. Click Copy next to it.
  5. In Google Drive, share your contract templates and the folder that will hold copies with that email, as Editor.
  6. On the Drive and documents tab, make sure Service Account (key JSON) is selected.

To remove the key, click Delete key and then Confirm deletion. If you were using service-account mode, contract documents stop working until you connect Google again.

Choose where new documents are saved

  1. On the Drive and documents tab, find Google Drive folder.
  2. Paste the folder's ID or its full address into Document template folder (default). If you paste the address, Site Connect keeps just the ID.
  3. Click Save settings at the top right.

Copies made from templates are saved in this folder. Use Open to check the folder in Google Drive, or Copy link to send it to whoever needs to share it.

Decide who can open new documents

In Document sharing access:

  1. Under Default mode for new files, choose View, Review (comment) or Edit.
  2. Under Add people allowed to edit, choose By role and tick the roles, or Specific person and pick people with Add people.... They get edit access even when the default is View or Review.
  3. Click Save in that box. You'll see Sharing settings saved.

Anyone with the link

The default mode applies to anyone who has the link. Contracts contain personal details, so share links carefully, and choose View unless people really need more.

Good to know

  • The Google page also shows sections that Site Connect's features don't use: Working documents folder (default), Other folders, Google API Key (YouTube), Meeting rooms and Auto-create & lock employee emails. You can leave them empty.
  • Signing in to Site Connect with Google doesn't need anything on this page — see Sign in and reset your password.
