Kanban appearance

Choose one look for the Kanban boards in your workspace: how columns and cards are drawn, and which details each card shows. The setting is shared — everyone in the workspace sees the same style. In Site Connect it applies to the task boards (the Kanban view in Tasks) and to the project Stage board.

Where to find it

Menu: Utilities › Kanban appearance · Address: hub.siteconnect.ai/settings/kanban-themeWho can use it: people with the Settings · View permission can open the page; saving needs Settings · Edit. Admins can do both. See Roles and permissions.

The Preview at the top of the page redraws as you change options. It uses sample cards, so the text differs from your own tasks, but the style is exactly what your boards will show.

Start from a preset

  1. Under Presets, click the one closest to what you want:

    PresetLook
DefaultLight grey columns, rounded white cards
Sticky boardDarker columns, tighter cards, light rounding
MinimalNo column background, just separators — easy on the eye with many columns
RoomyWide columns, airy cards — for large screens
DenseNarrow columns, small text — fits the most cards
DetailsInformation-rich cards under a header in the stage colour
Stage-tinted cardsThe whole column takes the stage colour, with compact cards
Single lineEach card on one line, like a list — quick to scan long columns
Bold backgroundDark columns with bright cards — for meeting rooms and wall displays
  2. Fine-tune it below if you like (see the next sections).

  3. Click Save. You'll see Kanban appearance saved for the whole workspace.

Boards you have open change straight away. Other people see the new look the next time they open or refresh Site Connect.

Fine-tune the cards

Under Card style:

  • Layout — Compact (title, a secondary line and a footer), Details (adds a two-column grid of details, a progress bar and the next step) or Single line (one line per card).
  • Density — Compact, Regular or Roomy spacing.
  • Corner rounding — from Square to Very rounded.
  • Border — Hairline border, No border or Coloured left edge.
  • Shadow — Flat, Subtle or Raised.
  • Accent colour — the colour used for figures, borders and buttons on cards.

Fine-tune the columns

Under Column style:

  • Shape — Solid surface, Attached header, different colour, Attached header, same colour or Detached header card. The note next to Shape describes the one you picked.
  • Title size, Title weight and Title capitalisation (As typed, First letter only, Every Word or ALL CAPS) for the column names.
  • Column header content — Compact, or With total and age.
  • Width — drag the slider (220 to 420 pixels).
  • Column background — a colour, No background, Follow stage colour or Bold (hover over a swatch to see its name).
  • Stage colour shown as — Dot, Bar above column, Coloured label or No colour.
  • Column separator — tick Draw a line between columns (suits boards without column backgrounds).

Choose what cards show

Under Information shown on cards, untick anything you don't need to make cards shorter. The names are general because each kind of board maps them to its own fields. On a task board:

OptionShows on task cards
Labels & status chipsPriority and labels
Secondary line (company, project, position)The project name, on boards that mix projects
Figures (value, %, salary)Subtask progress, in the Details layout
OwnerThe assignees
Due dateThe due date

The Stage board follows the column and card style; what its project cards show stays the same.

Good to know

  • If your role can't save, Site Connect tells you Only administrators can change the Kanban appearance when you click Save, and the page becomes read-only.
  • This is a workspace-wide look. Each person can still change how a board is grouped or filtered — see Tasks.
  • The Kanban view in the mobile app isn't affected.
  • To change the columns themselves (the statuses), see Task statuses.
