Attendance management
An attendance record is one person's time present for a day: when they clocked in, when they clocked out and how long that was. This page lists those records so HR and managers can check who was in, and look at the photo and GPS position captured with each clock-in.
Where to find it
Menu: HR › Attendance management · Address: hub.siteconnect.ai/attendanceWho can use it: admins by default. Others need the View permission on the Attendance management row — see Roles and permissions.

Attendance is not the same as task check-ins
Site Connect keeps two kinds of time, and they are recorded separately:
| Task check-ins | Attendance | |
|---|---|---|
| What it measures | Time spent on a specific task, in a specific project | Time present for the day |
| How it's recorded | The worker checks in and out on a task in the mobile app | The worker clocks in and out on the Attendance tab of the mobile app |
| Where you review it | The project's Work hours tab and the Check-in map | This page and the timesheets |
Checking in on a task does not create an attendance record. An attendance record only appears when:
- Someone clocks in on the Attendance tab of the mobile app. This tab isn't on the app menu by default — an admin adds it in System › Mobile app (see Mobile app settings). How workers use it: Attendance on the mobile app.
- An attendance correction request is approved. Approving a "forgot to clock in/out" request writes the corrected times into that day's record, or creates the record if there wasn't one — see Attendance adjustments.
- You moved from Connecteam. The daily timesheet totals imported from Connecteam are stored as attendance records — see Connecteam.
Your team only checks in on tasks?
Then this page and the timesheets stay mostly empty, and that's expected. Review hours on each project's Work hours tab instead (see Project profile). If you want both kinds of time — for example to see unallocated hours — add the Attendance tab to the mobile app.
Look up attendance records
- Go to HR › Attendance management. Records are listed newest first, 20 per page. The number of records is shown under the title.
- To see one person's records, type their name or employee ID in the Employee box (Search by name or employee ID...) and pick them from the list. Select × to clear the filter.
- To see only some records, pick a Status: On time, Late or Left early.
Each row shows:
- Date, Check-in and Check-out times. Not checked out means the person clocked in and hasn't clocked out yet — normal during the day, worth a look the next morning.
- Hours — worked time, calculated once both times exist.
- Type — Office or On-site, as recorded by the app.
- Status — On time, Late or Left early (see below).
- Accuracy — how precise the phone's GPS was at clock-in: green up to 20 m, orange up to 100 m, red above that. A large number usually means a weak signal, not a problem with the person.
One day for the whole team
To see everyone side by side for a day or a week, use Timesheet (weekly).
See everything captured with a clock-in
Select Details on a row. The Attendance details window shows:
- 📸 Attendance photos — the check-in and check-out photos, if the rules asked for one. Select a photo to enlarge it; from there you can Download it.
- Time — the exact check-in and check-out times. Device time: appears when the clock-in was recorded on the phone without a connection and sent later; it's the time on the phone when the button was pressed.
- Check-in location and Check-out location — the coordinates, the GPS Accuracy:, and the address when one is known. Open Maps shows the point in Google Maps. Status: tells you whether the phone gave its position: Success, Rejected (location access was refused on the phone), Timed out or Unavailable.
- Device & authentication — the device type, sign-in method, browser and operating system.
What the statuses mean
- On time — the person clocked in within their shift hours, or no shift hours apply to them.
- Late — clocked in after the start of their shift hours, beyond the allowed grace period.
- Left early — clocked out before the end of their shift hours.
Late and Left early are only calculated when shift hours apply to that person. Without shift hours, every day shows On time.
Fix a wrong or missing record
You can't edit attendance records on this page. Instead, the employee sends an attendance correction request through Approvals, and once it's approved Site Connect updates the record. This keeps a record of who asked, why, and who approved it. See Attendance adjustments.
Good to know
- There's no clock-in button on the web. Attendance comes from the mobile app (or from approved corrections and imported Connecteam data).
- The app can record a clock-in without signal and send it when the phone is back online, up to 7 days later. The record keeps the time the button was actually pressed.
- If someone clocks in and never clocks out, the HR bot sends them a reminder in Chat so they can clock out or ask for a correction.
- The rules for when a photo or GPS is required are set in Attendance settings, and the places that count as "inside" are your Locations.
