Attendance adjustments

When an attendance record is wrong or missing — someone forgot to clock in or out, arrived late or left early — the employee sends a request through Approvals. Once a manager approves it, Site Connect fixes the attendance record. The Adjustment approvals page is the log of every adjustment made this way.

Menu: HR › Attendance › Adjustment approvals

Sent from the app's monthly timesheet? When an employee taps Explanation on a day of their monthly timesheet in the app, the correction arrives on this page as Pending approval — open it and select Approve or Reject (a reason is required to reject).

Where to find it

Menu: HR › Adjustment approvals · Address: hub.siteconnect.ai/correctionsWho can use it: viewing the log needs the View permission on the Adjustment approvals row — see Roles and permissions. Approving a request is done in Approvals by the approvers set on the approval template.

Attendance only

Adjustments fix attendance records (clocking in and out on the Attendance tab of the mobile app). They don't change task check-ins. See Attendance vs. task check-ins.

Three kinds of request

Each kind is an approval template with its own Integration type. In Approvals › Approval templates you can filter the templates by it:

Integration typeUse it whenWhat approval does
Attendance correctionSomeone forgot to clock in or out, or the time recorded is wrongWrites the corrected times into that day's attendance record, or creates the record if the day had none
Late arrivalSomeone arrived late with permissionLeaves the times as they are; the day counts as a full day on the monthly timesheet
Left earlySomeone left early with permissionLeaves the times as they are; the day counts as a full day on the monthly timesheet

New workspaces come with a template of each type. By default a request goes to the employee's direct manager, and to an admin when the employee has no manager. To change who approves, edit the template — see Approval templates.

Ask for a correction (employee)

  1. Open Approvals — in the mobile app (it's on the app menu by default) or on the web.
  2. Start a new request and pick the attendance correction template.
  3. Choose the date. Enter the correct clock-in and/or clock-out time and the reason. You can attach a photo as evidence.
  4. Send the request. It shows as pending until it's approved or rejected.

If your workspace uses the Attendance tab in the app, employees can also start this request straight from their attendance history — see Attendance on the mobile app.

Adding a whole missing day

If there's no attendance record for that day at all, include the clock-in time in the request. Site Connect needs it to create the record.

Approve or reject a request (manager)

  1. Go to Approvals › Approval inbox, or open Approvals in the mobile app.
  2. Open the request. Check the date, the times, the reason and any photo.
  3. Select Approve — or Reject if the request isn't right.

When you approve an Attendance correction request, Site Connect updates that day's attendance record straight away: you'll see the new times in Attendance management and in the timesheets. Rejecting a request changes nothing.

More about the approval inbox: Approvals.

Review past adjustments

  1. Go to HR › Adjustment approvals. The page is titled Attendance adjustment.
  2. Switch between All, Approved, Pending approval and Reject to filter by status.
  3. Each row shows the Date, the Type (for example Forgot to clock), the requested Clock-in time and Clock-out time, the Reason, the evidence Image (select it to view the photo), the Status and the Source.
  4. Select a row — or the request number in Source — to open the approval request it came from in a side panel. There you can see the whole request and its approval history.

If an adjustment wasn't created from an approval request, selecting it shows This adjustment was not created from an approval request.

Good to know

  • You can't edit attendance times directly in the hub. Corrections always go through an approval, so there's a record of who asked, why, and who approved it.
  • On the monthly timesheet, a late or early day without an approved request shows a warning mark; once a Late arrival or Left early request is approved for that day it shows as a full day (✓). Whether approved requests protect a session is set in Timesheet credit rules.
  • The Reason you see here is the one the employee typed in the request.
