Workspaces
A workspace is one company in Site Connect. Everything your company works with — employees, projects, tasks, schedules, timesheets, settings, plan and seats — lives inside its workspace and never mixes with another company's data.
One Site Connect account (your email or phone number) can belong to several workspaces. For example, a supervisor who works for two contractors, or an owner who runs two separate companies.
Where to find it
Menu: System › Switch workspace · Address: hub.siteconnect.ai/select-workspaceWho can use it: everyone who is signed in. You see only the workspaces you belong to.
Switch to another workspace
From the top bar (quickest):
- Click the workspace name in the top bar, next to the Site Connect logo.
- The list shows each workspace with its customer code, plan, and status. Type in the search box to filter by name or code.
- Click a workspace. You see Opening..., then Site Connect reloads inside that workspace.
From the full list:
- Open System › Switch workspace, or click View all workspaces at the bottom of the top-bar list.
- On Choose a workspace, click the card of the workspace you want (Open →).
You land on that workspace's home page — Chat if it uses team chat, otherwise Tasks. If you belong to only one workspace, Site Connect skips the Choose a workspace screen when you sign in.
Each workspace can look different
Your role is set separately in each workspace, so the menu and what you're allowed to do can change when you switch. Your display name, phone, and job title on your profile are also per workspace.
What the workspace cards show
On Choose a workspace, each card shows:
- the workspace name and logo,
- Current on the workspace you're in now, and Just joined on one you've just accepted an invitation to,
- a status label if the workspace isn't running normally (see Workspace statuses),
- Organization: with the parent company's name, when it's different from the workspace name,
- your role in the company: Owner, Admin, Billing, or Member,
- the customer code (Code …), the workspace's short web name, and a short ID.
Find your customer code for support
Every workspace has a customer code. It appears as Code … on the workspace cards and in the top-bar workspace list. When you contact Site Connect support, give them this code so they can find your company quickly.
Administrators can also copy the Workspace ID from System › General settings — see General settings.
Create another workspace
You can open a workspace for a new company yourself — for example, if you're an employee somewhere and want to start your own business, or you run two separate companies.
- Open System › Switch workspace (or click View all workspaces in the top bar).
- Click the Create a new workspace card (Create →).
- Type the Company / workspace name (at least 2 characters).
- Click Create workspace.
You become the owner of the new workspace. Site Connect shows Setting up your workspace while it prepares roles, settings, approval templates and more — this only takes a moment and only happens once. Then you land inside the new workspace and can invite your team. The workspace you came from isn't affected.
The new workspace:
- starts on the Free plan (see Plans and billing),
- uses your computer's time zone as the company time zone (you can change it in General settings),
- has its own employees, plan, and credit wallet — nothing is shared with your other workspaces.
How many workspaces you can open
You can open up to 3 workspaces yourself, counting the one you created when you signed up. The card tells you how many you have left (You can open … more.). When you reach the limit, it says You've already opened 3 workspaces yourself. Contact Site Connect support if you need more. Workspaces that another company invited you to don't count.
Workspace statuses
Most of the time a workspace simply works. If something is wrong with the company's account, you may see one of these labels on its card:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Setting up | The workspace is still being prepared. Try again in a moment. |
| Payment overdue | A payment is late. The workspace keeps working, but the owner should sort out billing soon. |
| Grace period | You can still open and read everything, but you can't make changes until the account is back in good standing. |
| Suspended | The workspace is paused and can't be used. Contact the company owner or administrator. |
| Closed | The workspace has been closed and can't be opened. Choose another workspace. |
If you don't see a workspace
- No workspace yet — your account isn't part of any company. Ask an administrator to invite you (see Employee invitations), or create your own workspace from the same screen.
- A workspace is missing — you may have been removed from it, or the invitation wasn't accepted yet. Open the invitation email and accept it first.
